Driving for Hope and
Support
As you may be aware, on August 23rd the inspiration for
Golf Fore the Kids took on a new meaning. Jacob Aaron Osit
fulfilled his legacy here on earth and passed away surrounded
by his family. While we remain committed to finding a cure
and helping kids in treatment, we also want to remember
the smiles that Jacob shared with everyone during his short
life. Words can not express the sadness that this experience
has caused for our family, but learning that folks want
to support our efforts each year and join the fight against
pediatric cancer certainly helps.
The golf tournament was created in early 2003 in Jacob’s
honor, after he courageously fought what, we then thought,
was the worse part of his battle against cancer. Since then,
Golf Fore the Kids has funded both the development of new
aggressive cancer care strategies and treatment programs
at The Jimmy Fund as well as many support services to cancer
patients and their families at the Connecticut Children’s
Medical Center. Now, more than ever, we are committed to
continuing this noble and necessary work.
We know that Jacob will continue to inspire and guide us
in our efforts.
